Radio Host Fired Over Bullying Allegations

Angry boss

A public radio host, Bob Garfield, has been terminated from his position at New York Public Radio following an investigation into bullying allegations. According to this NPR article by Elizabeth Blair, this was not Garfield’s first encounter with accusations of this nature. He was similarly investigated in 2020 and disciplinary action was taken.

Garfield has denied the severity of the allegations and is quoted in the article, stating that he is being terminated for “yelling in 5 meetings over 20 years.” His show, ‘On The Media,’ has put out a statement saying that they agree with the decision of New York Public Radio.
