Harassed Employee Files Suit

A man in North Carolina has filed a suit after being terminated from his job as an electrical worker. This  followed a complaint of finding a noose on a worksite. According to this USA Today article, Mr. Stevie Lamont Stuckes worked at Pike Electric for three years, during which he alleges he was subjected to racially charged language and actions as the only Black man on the team.

According to the article, Mr. Stuckes was repeatedly called “boy,” had a knife pulled on him, and eventually found the noose at a worksite. Mr. Stuckes reported all of these incidents to Pike without any action taken. Pike has stated that these situations were taken out of context and is prepared to prove that in court.
