Challenges Against Company COVID-19 Vaccine Directives

The thousand complaint mark has been exceeded regarding the number of cases opposing the  COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the article in the National Law Review, the highest number of complaints were raised in August 2022, challenging the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Most of these complaints have been targeted at public and private employers who adopted policies requiring their employees to get vaccinated. The filing of lawsuits increased in 2021, but an upward trend has been observed over this past summer.

The case filings may have increased due to the updated guidance from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). The altering attitude regarding vaccines and the pandemic may also have an impact.

Employer vaccine mandates were more widespread than last year.

However, with changing attitudes toward the pandemic, employee shortages and updated CDC guidance, and the risk of lawsuits, numerous employers that had not mandated vaccines have decided to continue without the same.
