Allegations in the MLB

The past several years have significantly impacted workplace norms, particularly surrounding gender equality and appropriate, professional behavior in the workplace.  Unfortunately, some professional cultures have failed to adapt to these expectations. Recently, Major League Baseball (MLB) launched an investigation into Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway after multiple women came forward regarding inappropriate text messages he sent.

According to Bob Nightengale’s USA Today article, Callaway texted the women lewd photos and asked them for nude photographs. There have been several other accusations of Callaway’s offensive or unprofessional behavior around female reporters, and in one case, offering classified information if the woman spent time alone with him. Nightengale states that Callaway, a married man, has denied the truth behind these allegations, noting a recent statement he gave to The Atlantic.
